Vivamos
Vivamos strengthens poverty-stricken communities in Latin America and East Africa so that they can actively exercise their civil rights and responsibilities and promote the sustainable development of their living spaces. The Swiss aid organization supports rural communities in the sustainable management of water, forests and soil, prepares young children for school and paves the way for young people to enter the workforce with holistic vocational training. Vivamos works on the basis of evidence and has twice won the SDC/NADEL Impact Award for its impact measurement.
The mission
In the “Water & Food” program, Vivamos supports rural communities in maintaining water security and biodiversity. Experienced specialists train farming families in agroecological cultivation and healthy nutrition so that they can sustainably improve their food security. Through holistic pre-school support, Vivamos increases the chances of poverty-stricken children having a successful school career with its “Bridges to School” program. In the “Bridges to Working Life” program, Vivamos gives young people access to vocational training, a regular income and social participation.

"We place a special focus on the first years of life and nutrition. Because if we give children affected by poverty a better start to their development, this has a positive effect on the rest of their lives."
"As an alliance, we pursue a common goal and can learn from each other at the same time. In this way, we can achieve more together than any individual organization can on its own."
